Active Refinement
Inward processing is a customs procedure in which non-EU goods are imported into the EU for processing, repair or further processing without incurring import duties or taxes. Once the processing is complete, the goods must be re-exported. This procedure promotes competitiveness by allowing companies to cost-effectively process raw materials or parts produced abroad and sell the finished products outside the EU without having to pay customs duties.
