Air Waybill (AWB)

The air waybill is a necessary document for the shipment of goods by air freight. It contains the freight invoice, the insurance certificate, proof of fulfilment of customs obligations and the delivery confirmation. For some regions, additional information is required.

This document is the contract between the consignor of the goods and the transporting airline. In addition, the AWB also serves as confirmation of receipt. No goods are carried without an air waybill, the only exception being the Onboard Courier, as his consignment is checked in as baggage and therefore no air waybill is required.
