Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) or Bunker Surcharge refers to the additional fuel surcharge levied by shipping companies to compensate for oil price fluctuations. The amount of the surcharge depends on factors such as route, distance, transit time and weight of the cargo. The BAF always refers to one TEU.
