Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)

The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, or CBAM, taxes goods imported into the European Union based on the carbon emissions generated during their production. It was introduced by the European Union to promote fairer competition and incentivise low-carbon innovation to mitigate climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
