Public Holidays in Asia: When Our Offices Close for Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is the most important Asian festival that our Asian colleagues also celebrate, therefore some of our IFB offices will be closed during this period.

  • General Information

The Chinese New Year, or Lunar New Year, is the most important traditional festival in Asia. It marks the beginning of the new lunar year and is celebrated with family gatherings, feasts and traditional customs. This year, the festival is symbolised by the snake, which stands for wisdom, intuition and elegance. People born in the Year of the Snake are considered clever, analytical and determined. The snake also symbolises deep reflection and spiritual growth, making this year a time for prudence and strategic action.

The festivities have a significant impact on the global supply chain every year. Many factories in China pause their production and logistics services are also restricted. We therefore recommend that you plan your shipments well in advance and contact us in good time to avoid delays.

Our team will be available before and after the holidays to support your logistics needs in the best possible way. However, our Asian colleagues will also be celebrating the festive season with their loved ones, so some offices will be closed.

We would like to send our best wishes to everyone celebrating the Lunar New Year. May the New Year bring you and your families happiness, health and success! We wish you prosperity and happiness!
